Mangalore, Sept 24: Dr Avinash Niivritti Supe, Chairman/Convenor and Expert group of National Medical Council , India inaugurated the two-day national conference on clinical skills education ‘SKILL EDUCON 2022’, at Father Muller Charitable Institutions in the city on Friday September 24. This event is organised by Father Muller Simulation and Skill Centre and Medical Education Unit of Father Muller Medical College.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Avinash Supe said," A change in the teaching learning methodology for Indian medical graduates is the need of the hour. And NMC has introduced the new CBME Methodology for the same. However, despite the changes we should not shift our focus away from the importance of the doctor-patient relationship.”

During the two day event, a series of sessions will be held on many topics  dealing with the challenges in setting and implementing the CBME Curriculum which are delivered by faculty from all parts of the country.

The Conference was preceded by a One day pre conference workshop which included 6 workshops conducted by experts in the field.

An exhibition was also organised by Tech4hc, Nasco healthcare international and Skill qube of all the task trainers and manikins which are included as part of the NMC requirements.

Organizing chairperson Dr Nagesh KR welcomed the gathering.

Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions Fr Richard Coelho, Administrator Father Muller Medical College Rev Fr Ajit Menezes, Dean Father Muller Medical College Dr Anthony Sylvan Dsouza, Head of Simulation and Skills Centre Dr Lulu Sherif were present.

Dr Rithesh Dcunha Organising Secretary proposed the vote of thanks.
