Mangaluru: The 27th District Kannada Literary Conference, organized by the Dakshina Kannada Zilla Kannada Sahitya Parishat, will be held on February 21 and 22 at the Mangaluru University Konaje Mangala Sabhangana. The conference will be conducted under the presidency of renowned writer Dr. Prabhakar Shishil. During the event, 13 individuals and one institution who have rendered exceptional service in the fields of literature, art, and culture will be honored.

The honored individuals include Udupi District Commissioner Dr. Vidyakumari Pavoor, novelist Dr. Prabhakar Neermarga, social leader Venkappa Kajava Mithtakodi from Mudipu, artists M.G. Kaje from Sullia, writer Paramananda Salian from Mulkki, journalist Dhananjay Moodabidri, visual artist Monappa from Puttur, teacher and sportsman Premagowda from Kadaba, traditional coastal artifact collector Shashikumar Bhat Padaru from Vittla, water conservation expert Dr. Joseph N.M. from Beltangady, Shanti Prakashana’s manager Mohammad Kunhi Thokkottu from Mangaluru, and Dr. Sabitha Koraga, Assistant Professor at Mangaluru University from Kunjaje.

Additionally, Payyannuru Kunjiraman Master, who translated Niranjan's novels into Malayalam for the promotion of Kannada in border areas, and Kuria Vittala Shastri Cultural Foundation (R) Ujire, will also be honored at the conference. Srinath, president of Dakshina Kannada District Kannada Sahitya Parishat, and Dr. Dhananjay Kumble, general secretary of the organizing committee, in a press release.
