Udupi: On the second day of MIC’s flagship event Article-19, the atmosphere was aglow with the ceremonial Inauguration and Lighting of the lamp, graced by our esteemed Keynote speaker Mohit Soni, Chief Executive Officer of the Media and Entertainment Skills Council and our Guest of Honour Sunitha Subramaniyan, Chief Communications and Digital Marketing Officer at TAFE along with the Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. N.N. Sharma, Director of the Manipal Institute of Communication Dr. Padma Rani, and the faculty coordinator Shruthi V Shetty, set the tone with a warm and welcoming address, captivating the gathering with her words of hospitality and enthusiasm for the day ahead.

The Keynote speaker,  Mohit Soni took centre stage and delivered a compelling speech emphasising the importance of the media sector and the art of storytelling. He passionately urged the audience to recognize and spread awareness about the significance of media in our society. He highlighted the uniqueness of individual dreams stating, “ The more different you are in your dreams, the better you are.” His heartfelt words resonated with the audience leaving a lasting impact.

Following the keynote address the Guest of Honour Sunita Subramaniyan delivered an insightful session. She emphasised the importance of sharpening regional language skills, adapting to digital platforms and implementing integrated communication strategies. Her talk concluded with an interactive session, providing the audience with valuable creative insights and inspirations for their future endeavours.

In the afternoon, Celebrity speaker Dhruv Sehgal actor, director, and writer for Little Things and Filter Copy captivated the audience with his dynamic approach to relatable storytelling in contemporary Indian entertainment.He delves into his extensive experience as an actor, director and writer whilst elaborating on the intricacies of each role. When posed with the question of his preference among the three options, he elected to favour writing as it helps him understand the world and himself. “Its a strange medication practice” he says. He then goes on to quote David lynch and says our minds are like ponds and the ideas are like the fish, suggesting that the sustenance we provide our minds directly influences their well-being.

With that Article 19, 2024 came to a successful end.
