Madinah: Passengers were left in a state of distress due to the cancellation of hundreds of flights, and an IndiGo flight from Madinah to Hyderabad was diverted to Ahmedabad today after receiving a bomb threat, PTI reported.

According to a PTI report, the flight landed safely at Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport around 12:30 pm today and all passengers and crew were subjected to a thorough check, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Atul Bansal.
In an email sent to IndiGo, it was stated that a bomb had been planted on the plane. Since Ahmedabad is the nearest airport, the pilot immediately attempted to land the plane as a precautionary measure.
After receiving the alert, local police rushed to the airport to assist the CISF and NDRF. Officials said that no suspicious object was found in the initial search.
IndiGo's operational disruptions continued for the second day today, with over 200 flights cancelled on Wednesday due to staff shortage and a glitch in the SITA check-in software.
