Kasaragod: Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning), organized Vana Jeevana Yajna-2025. Tree Plantation for a Greener Tomorrow) in the premises of Shree Shankara Dhyana Mandir Posadigumpe, Kasaragod on 19th July 2025 Saturday from 9.30am onwards in association with Shree Shankara Dhyana Mandir Posadigumpe, SIGMA, IEI-AI&ML Student Chapter, IEEE-SCEM Student Branch and Sahyadri-IIC.

The event begun with introductory remarks by Shankar Rao Kakve and Keshava Prasad Edakkana the office bearers of Shree Shankara Dhyana Mandir Posadigumpe. Followed by students planted more than 100 saplings of Aragbadha, Indian rosewood, Gooseberry, Guava, Indian Kino Tree etc. provided by the Forest Department of Kerala with the motto of Greener Tommorow. The students also developed water harvesting trenches and cleaned the surroundings of Posadi Gumpe, a hillock located in the Kasaragod district which stands at an elevation of 1060 feet (approximately 323 meters) above sea level, with guidance of experts participated in the event.The event gave an exposure to the students about the geographical characteristics and awareness about water harvesting for better tomorrow. The event was concluded with a visit to Shiriya Dam located nearby.  32 students were participated in the event. The event was coordinated by Prof. GanarajK, Department of CSE(AI&ML).
