Derik's Chess School prodigy Aaron Reeve Mendes has won Runner Up place in Ontario state Under 8 chess championship, Canada held on 11th & 12th May 2019.He scored 4 points in 5 rounds including victories against FIDE rated players and defending champions. With this performance, Aaron has qualified for Canada national championship in under 8 category to be held during July. Aaron is studying in 2nd standard in Mount Carmel School, Mangalore and is son of Arun & Jennifer Mendes.
