Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 01: Veteran Malayalam actress Tara Kalyan's mother R. Subbalakshmi (87) died of age-related health issues at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday night.
Apart from acting she was aslo involved in music and was a painter. She was known for playing grandmother roles in various language films. some of her famous movies from Malayalam were 'Kalyanaraman', 'Pandippa' and 'Nandanam', she has also appeared in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Sanskrit films.
Subbalakshmi was the first woman coordinator of Aakashvani in South India. Worked as a dubbing artist and appeared in more than 65 serials.
