Manipal: Film actress of the ‘Kantara’ fame Manasi Sudhir, who is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer and singer, was here felicitated by the Gandhian Centre for Philosophical Arts and Sciences (GCPAS), MAHE, on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

Manasi Sudhir, who has acted in 14 films, was widely acclaimed for her characteristic role in the successful film ‘Kantara.’ Responding to the felicitation, the artiste said one should enjoy one’s work, and one should struggle hard for success.

The GCPAS Head Varadesh Hiregange said artiste Manasi has come up the hard way. So far as women’s status is concerned, we have progressed to some extent, but it is still a long distance Prof Phaniraj wished that she gets better roles in the days to come.

The Gender Club- La Spectre was inaugurated by Manasi Sudhir. The non-teaching women employees were felicitated on the occasion. Shravya Basri compered the programme. The programme was organized by the students of Ecosophy, Aesthetics, Peace, and Art Media.
