Dr Sushil Jathanna in a press release said that India is seeing an explosion of end stage renal failure needing dialysis mainly due to the growing problem of Diabetes and Hypertension. “It is important for all of us to join together to ensure this life saving treatment is available at affordable costs and is accessible to all. No patient should die or be denied treatment because of a lack of access to dialysis,” he said, adding that Mission Hospital will prioritise the provision of dialysis at affordable costs and further expand the provision of dialysis to make it accessible to as many patients as possible. Dr Sushil Jathanna, further said that Mission Hospital will launch a series of medical camps to screen for diabetes and hypertension so that we can diagnose and treat it early in order to prevent complications later.
End stage renal failure is the final, permanent stage of kidney disease where the kidney function has declined to the point that the kidneys can no longer function on their own and need dialysis or a kidney transplant. But many people live long and fruitful lives on dialysis or after a kidney transplant.
