Dakshina Kannda/ Udupi:- The state has been experiencing good rainfall since the last three days. The meteorological department has predicted heavy rainfall to continue in the state for five more days.
The state is experiencing rain due to surface breeze in the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. Udupi, Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada districts situated on the coast are likely to receive heavy rainfall on September 11 Red alert has been announced for coastal Karnataka. During this period rainfall might exceed 205 mm, the department clarified.
On September 10, 12 and 13 orange alert have been issued. As the wind velocity in the coast will be high, the department has warned the fishermen not to venture into the sea during this period.
