Mangaluru, July 6, 2025 – The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Mangalore Diocese held its Annual General Body Meeting at Rosario Cathedral Hall, Mr. Vijoy Ashwin Cardoza from Moodbidri elected as the new President for the year 2025–26.

The day's events commenced with the Annual General Body Meeting, conducted by Diocesan Executive Committee, Central Council members, and all deanery and unit representatives.

The meeting began with a prayer by Dr. Joyston Dsouza, Joint Secretary followed by a blessing from the designated director, Rev. Fr. Praveen Dsouza Designated Director. The outgoing President, Mr. Winston Joel Sequeira, welcomed the gathering.

Ms. Ashlin Avita Dsouza, Secretary, presented the previous year's general body meeting report, while Ms. Reena Anjali Crasta, Treasurer, detailed the annual financials. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Ashlin Avita Dsouza and the release of the Amso Yuvak 2024–25 magazine by  Committee members. 

Thereafter Holy solemn Eucharistic celebration followed, led by the main celebrant Rev. Dr. Ozmond Roshan Dsouza, assistant Parish Preist Bendur, co-celebrants as Rev. Fr. Ashwin Lohith Cardoza and Rev. Fr. Praveen Dsouza.

Under the supervision of Rev. Fr. Vijay Victor Lobo Election Officer and the Mangalore Diocesan Election Commission, and with the assistance of Seminary Brothers, elections were conducted for the 2025–26 office bearers.

Valedictory Ceremony began with prayer by council members and the Annual Report 2024–25 presented by Ms. Ashlin Avita Dsouza. Former DEXCO members Mr. Jaison Crasta and Mrs. Vishma Dcunha, Mr.Brendan Cutinha and Mrs. Carol D Souza, Mrs. Shiny D Souza and Mr. Arvin Moras who were recently married were felicitated, along with Dr. Steevan Pinto, Permude Ex-president of ICYM Mangalore Diocese who addressed the gathering on leadership and skill development.

The new committee took the oath of office, followed by an address from Rev. Fr. Ashwin Lohith Cardoza, who reflected on his six years of experience with ICYM.

The official handing over ceremony was held, and the ICYM 2025–26 journey was symbolically inaugurated by lighting the lamp.

The event concluded with the ICYM theme song. The entire day's program was compered by Mr. Jaison Pereira (Shirthady) ex Diocese and Regional President, and was marked by unity, gratitude, and a spirit of renewal.
