Bengaluru:  Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation has already launched many types of buses for the convenience of passengers. Now, 15 'Ambari Utsav' sleeper buses have started service as the first phase of 50 Volvo sleeper vehicles for the passengers to have a pleasant journey.

Hon'ble Chief Minister inaugurated the Volvo Bis-VI 9600s multi axle 'Ambari Utsav' sleeper vehicles of Kararasa Corporation today in front of the Grand Steps of the Vidhana Soudha. On this occasion Hon'ble Transport and Scheduled Tribes Welfare Minister and Hon'ble MLA, Holalkere Assembly Constituency and Chairman Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation were present.

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation is providing transport services to 28 lakh passengers by covering 28 lakh km every day from 8000 routes, out of which 17% students are provided transport services. The corporation is earning Rs.10 crores per day.

These 'Ambari Utsav' vehicles are planned to operate on the following routes.

Bangalore - Secunderabad

Bangalore - Hyderabad

Bangalore - Ernakulam

Bangalore - Thiruvananthapuram

Bangalore - Trichur

Bangalore - Panaji

Kundapur - Bangalore

Mangalore - Poona

This vehicle will be 15 meters long and will have the following key features.

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation has undertaken several philanthropic programs for the welfare of its staff. The Corporation is internally renovating and operating more than 250 old vehicles in its regional and divisional workshops from internal resources.

600 new Karnataka transport model vehicles are being added within three months with the good intention of providing well-equipped transport facility to the rural commuters.

The Corporation plans to induct 350 electric vehicles in a phased manner with the aim of providing well-equipped transport facility between all the cities of the state.
