In this case most of the nut garden and rubber plantations have been found to be water free. Larvae are produced in the rubber plantations by collecting milk from the trees, by pouring rain water on the soot, nut soap and sprinkler pegs. Department officials are worried that the same larvae are turning into mosquitoes and causing dengue. Malaria cases are rising amid dengue menace. Dengue has hit the coast in the last year, killing many. This time too, dengue fever is likely to increase.
