Mangalore:  "I was born in Nanthoor, Mangalore. Konkani is my mother tongue. I live in Chicago,America. But my heart always beats for my mother land and mother language."  Opined Chicago based Mangalore origin author Dr Austin Prabhu. He was speaking in an unique programme 'Dialouge with Austin Prabhu' organized by Konkani Writers and Artistes Association and Konkani Language and Cultural Foundation at World Konknai Centre.

Austin Prabhu was felicitated on this occasion on behalf of Konkani Writers, Konkani Artistes, Konkani Associations of Mangalore with shawl, garland, flower bouquet and fruit basket. Ronald Sequeira, Surathkal, President of Konkani Writers and Artistes Association spoke about Dr Austin and his enormous contribution to konkani literature and language on this occasion. Senior writer Ron Roche Cascia, Konkani Activist Paul Moras and Gurudath Bantwalkar, associate Director of Konkani Language and Cultural Foundation were present on this occassion.

Poet Melvyn Rodrigues and Critic H M Pernal initiated dialogues with Dr Austin Prabhu. Avryel Rodrigues, Christopher Neenasam and Clanwin Fernandes recited selected dialogues from Dr Austin's award winning play Ankwar Celly.

Vincy Pinto Anjelore compered the programme. H M Pernal welcomed the gathering and proposed vote of thanks.
