Mangalore:  The inauguration of the first batch of the B.Sc. Nursing course at Milagres Nursing College, a unit of the Milagres Group of Institutions, took place on Monday, November 4, 2024. Speaking at the event, Rev. Sr. Aileen Mathias from Olavinahalli, who inaugurated the program, stated that starting a nursing college is not an easy task. However, Milagres Educational Institution has taken on this significant endeavour. She described nursing as a noble profession and highlighted its high demand in the job market. “Nursing is not just a job; it is a field dedicated to serving society, caring for patients in times of need, and providing strength to those who are emotionally distressed, making a significant impact on the lives of their families,” said Rev. Aileen Mathias.

Campus Director Fr. Dr. Michael Santhumayor mentioned that admissions for the B.Sc. Nursing course are already open, with only a few seats remaining. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Uday Fernandes, Principal of Milagres Central School; Melwin Vaz, Principal of the Pre-University College; Victoria, Vice-Principal of Milagres College of Nursing; and staff member Irene Alvarez. Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Nazareth  Correspondent of Milagres group of institutions welcomed the gathering, and Rev.Fr. Dr. Michael Santhumayor, Principal of Milagres Degree College, offered the vote of thanks. The eventwas anchored by Glancia Fernandes.
