Mangalore, August 16: Man arrested on Aug 14, 2021 at 12 noon on possession of unlawful explosives raw materials worth Rs. 1,11,140. at Gandhi Son's Building, Azizuddin Road, Bunder Mangalore.
In the press meet held today at commissioner office, N. Shahshi Kumar Commissioner of police said that" The accused has been identified as Anand Gatty(50) resident of Mudipu, owner of Shanthi N.I, Mangaluru."
Commissioner said "As soon as the information was received, with the permission of higher authorities a team of 5 raided the building where the materials were stored. During the raid 8 bag of Sulphur Powder Each 50 kg, 6 bags of Charcoal Each 40 kg, 4bags of Salt peter (Potassium Nitrate) Each 50 kg, 7 bags of Salt peter each 25 kg, Each 25 kg Dangerous Potassium Chlorate, 30 kg, 6 % kg, 15 kg & 3 ½ kg Alluminium Beed Bag, a bag of Salt peter (Barium Nitrate) 50kg, a box of Alluminium Powder 40 kg, Each 5 kg Alluminium Powder 4 bags, 20 kg Alluminium Powder Bag, Air pistol pellets of .22 bore 161 boxes of 100 each, Each 5 kg Ledball 6 packets, Weighing Scale and Weighing stone were found."
A case has been registered against accused at Mangalore North police station.
