Mangalore: The Department of Applied Zoology, Mangalore University had organized a two-days National workshop on ‘Recent Trends on Biological Sciences (NCTRBS-2025)’, at Dr D.Veerendra Heggde Lecture Hall of the varsity, recently.

In his inaugural speech, Prof. Muthukumar Muthuchamy, Department of Environmental Sciences, Central University, Kerala, said that Conservation of Western Ghats Biodiversity is most significant. Protect our environment and species conservation is the need of hour. He hoped that space technology can also help us to develop proper strategies to conservation natural resources and biodiversity.
Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Prof.P.L Dharma presided over program. He opined that societal concerned scientific developments and pollution free nature is responsibities of the young scientists. Dr Jawahar Ravindran, Research Officer, Karnataka Biodiversity Board, Bangalore has participated as a guest of honour.
Dr.Narasimhaiah N, Convener of workshop welcomes the guests stressed upon the workshop focus. The Workshop is aimed to train the UG and PG teachers, students and researchers on recent developments in biological Sciences.
More than 50 delegates Presented posters and 250 delegates were participated and 10 invited lectures were delivered during workshop many scientific deliberations were held during the workshop. Six posters were won the cash prizes and certificates of honour.
