Mangaluru: June 26: The Mangaluru Catholic Headmasters and Principals Association (MCHMPA) held its annual Educational Conference on Thursday at Rosario Cultural Hall, with the participation of prominent educational leaders and dignitaries.

The event witnessed the presence of Govinda Madivala (DDPI), Rev. Fr. Robert D’Souza (Parish Priest, Allipade Church, Bantwal), Rajalakshmi K.(Principal, DIET), Sumangala Naik (Dy. Secretary, SSK), Stany Barretto (Former Vice Principal, Milagres School), Lakshmi Narayana (SSLC Nodal Officer, Dakshina Kannada), Venkatesh (In-charge BEO, Belthangady), along with Aloysius D’Souza (Honorary President, MCHMPA), Jayavanthi Soans (President, MCHMPA), Jayashree (President, DKHMPA), and Matilda D’Costa (Secretary, MCHMPA).

The programme commenced with a prayer by students of St. Rita English Medium School, Cascia, followed by a welcome address by MCHMPA President Jayavanthi Soans. The ceremonial lamp was lit to officially inaugurate the conference.

In his address, Rev. Fr. Robert D’Souza commended the dedication of teachers and headmasters, encouraging students to become responsible citizens and contribute meaningfully to the nation.

DDPI Govinda Madivala praised the collective efforts of schools that helped Dakshina Kannada district secure the top position in the SSLC Board Examinations. He urged schools to focus on improving the performance of students with lower scores.

Rajalakshmi K. also congratulated the students, teachers, and school heads for their outstanding achievements.

As part of the event Retired headmasters from member schools were felicitated for their service. School toppers of the SSLC 2024–25 batch were honoured. Headmasters of schools with 100% SSLC results were recognized.

In a gesture of encouragement, Stany Barretto sponsored ₹50,000 for top-performing students of both English and Kannada medium schools. Surekha sponsored ₹10,000 for the top-performing female student from the Kannada medium.

Both DDPI Govinda Madivala and DIET Principal Rajalakshmi were honoured for their roles in the district’s academic success.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Matilda D’Costa, Secretary of MCHMPA. The Annual General Body Meeting of the association followed immediately after the conference.
