Mangaluru: Xavier Educational Trust (Regd.), Hampankatta, Mangaluru which runs a Technical Institute at Assaigoli near Konaje, hosted a Thanksgiving Service and Endowment Lecture under the auspices of "Late Rose & Sebastian Vas Memorial Charitable Fund" set up by the Trust in 2016. The Function was held at St Aloysius Hall on 10.9.2023 at 10 am. The Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Melwin Pinto, eminent Rector of St Aloysius College. The official Newsletter of the Trust " Xavier Linq" was  released by  Rev. Fr.  Melwin Pinto during the Function. 

The Chief Guest was Dr John Edward D'silva (Former Prof. at St Aloysius College) who also delivered the Lecture on "Relevance of ITI education in the digital world". In his lecture he emphasized the need of Technical education and its applications  in unison with the remarkable progress made in the Digital world.  He pointed out that many ITI'S have been closed due to lack of students. Due to various reasons like marriage, salary, prestige etc. youth of today prefer white-collared jobs, there-by reducing the intake of students to ITI. Parents should change their attitude.   No matter the proportion in which digitalization has progressed, manual and technical labour is also essential. He cited some examples and Statistical figures to strengthen his Talk. 

The lecture was appreciated by the August gathering. 

The Chief Guest Dr John D'silva, Trustee and Editor of "Xavier Linq", Mr. Charles Lobo, Mr. Sudhir Raj Kotian, Principal of Xavier ITI and the Teaching staff were honoured during the program. The Programme was beautifully compered by Dr Preethi Dsouza, Professor at Mangalore University. The Programme was attended by many eminent personalities of the City.
