Mulki: Poetica Kavighoshti 45 was successfully organised at Madeleine Higher Primary School, Mulki, where all students received shoes, socks and toys as part of a special distribution programme conducted by the Poetica group.

The event began with a band salute to the guests, followed by a prayer song and a welcome dance by the school children, creating a warm and vibrant atmosphere.

The programme was presided over by Rev. Sr. Shalet D’Souza, Advisor to the Provincial Superior of the Bethany Sisters, Mangalore Province.

The distinguished guests present on the occasion included:

Hemacharya, Managing Trustee, Sarva Dharma Sangama, Naveen Pereira Surathkal, Programme Organiser and Head of Poetica,  Mansoor Mulki, President of the Kavighoshti, Sr. Jacinta D’Souza, Headmistress, Madeleine High School, Suma, Vice President, Teachers’ Guardian Association, Sr. Presilla Flory D’Souza, Headmistress, Madeleine Higher Primary School.

Sr. Presilla Flory D’Souza extended a cordial welcome to all dignitaries. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the traditional lamp. Naveen Pereira Surathkal was honoured by the school for his service and contribution.

In their message, Hemacharya, Director of Daijiworld, and Rev. Sr. Shalet D’Souza lauded Poetica for its literary contributions and its commitment to social welfare initiatives.

The Kavighoshti, led by Mansoor Mulki, an alumnus of the institution and a police officer, featured poetic recitations by well-known poets Jossy Pinto, Hemacharya, Edward Lobo Tokkottu,  Maria George Kulshaker and Naveen Pereira Surathkal.

A lively mimicry performance by Edward Lobo delighted and captivated the children. This was followed by the distribution of shoes, socks and toys to all students of the school.

Connie P. Vaz served as the event compere, while Lavina Joyce Rodrigues proposed the vote of thanks.

The beaming smiles on the children’s faces after receiving the toys created a joyful, heart-warming atmosphere that touched everyone present.
