Mangaluru: University Evening College, Mangaluru  celebrated “National Youth Day” in commemoration of 159th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda  on Wednesday, 12th January 2022 at Ravindrakala Bhavana.

Shri Shri Swamy Viveka Chaithyananda of Ramakrishna Thapovana, Polali, Bantwal lit the Lamp and gave a floral tribute to Swami Vivekananda and spoke on the importance on goals of life. He said that if one follows Swami Vivekananda’s values of philosophy, he will grow spiritually gaining the essence of life. He also said that no one is bad, positivity removes the badness in human kind and we will be able to become a shining lamp which spreads inner beauty everywhere. He explained the importance of building good character which helps students to gain concentration. 

SriKrishna Upadadhyaya – Resource Faculty of Ambika Educational Group of Institutions, Putturu gave a resourceful lecture “Vishwa Digvijaya”. He advised to develop memory by seeing good, hearing good, thinking good and speaking good.

Dr. Subhashini Srivathsa, Principal of the College, said to love all, respect everyone and live a respectable life, learn from mistakes, not to be jealous of others, fulfill ones dreams with dedication and tolearn new things as 7 formulas of Swami Vivekananda.

On this occasion competitions were conducted among students. In pencil sketch competition first prize was bagged by Jithesh of I BA, IInd prize by Sanketh of III Bcom and Charan Kumar of II BA, IIIrd prize by Vamshi of II Bcom and Ganesh of  I BA. In speech competition Ist prize was bagged by Shwetha of II MBA, IInd prize by Ullas of II MBA and IIIrd prize by Kabeer. 

Deputy Director of Students Union Dr. Madhava M.K,  Student Welfare officer Dr Jagadeesh B,. and, Dr. Devadas Pai – Co-ordinator in Konkani Programme  were present on the dias.

Compeering was done by N. Ganesh Acharya. Rishika Rai introduced the guest, Ms. Lavanya and Group invoked a prayer. Vote of thanks was rendered by Sushmitha. Teaching and Non Teaching Faculty and Students were present during the programme.
