New Delhi: Swaraj Kaushal, husband of former Mizoram Governor and senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj, passed away on Thursday. Kaushal, who was a senior lawyer and father of MP Bansuri Swaraj, was 73 years old.
Sharing information about this on social media, Delhi BJP said, "We regret to inform you of the sudden demise of Swaraj Kaushal, former Governor of Mizoram and senior lawyer.
He was taken to AIIMS this afternoon after he complained of chest pain. Doctors declared him dead there, a BJP leader said.
The party said that Kaushal's mortal remains will be cremated at the Lodhi Road crematorium.
Posting an emotional message on X, Bansuri Swaraj said, "My father's affection, discipline, simplicity, patriotism and immense patience were the light of my life and it will always be with me. Your departure is very painful."
