New York: American media reported that the parents of the 20-year-old Indian student Sudiksha Konanki, who has been missing since March 6, have requested the police of the Dominican Republic to declare her dead.
Sudiksha Konanki, an Indian citizen and US permanent resident, was last seen on March 6 at the Riu Republic Resort in Punta Cana. Later, while on vacation in the Dominican Republic, she disappeared. US law enforcement agencies are investigating her disappearance along with authorities in the Caribbean country of the Dominican Republic
Despite extensive searches, her dead body was never found. Commenting on this, Dominican Republic National Police spokesman Diego Pestra said that Sudeeksha Konanki's parents have sent us a letter requesting that their daughter be declared dead, NBC news agency reported on Tuesday.
