Renowned Kannada poet, Prof. K.S. Nisar Ahmed passed away on Sunday, May 3rd at his residence in Bengaluru.His contribution to Kannada literature is of vast significance .‘Jogada Siri belakinalli’ and ‘Kurigalu saar’ are the gems that gained widespread popularity. 'Nityotsava','Manasu Gandhi Bazaaru', 'Anamika Aanglaru', 'Sanje aidara male' are few of his prominent works. He has translated William Shakespeare’s ‘ A midsummer night’s dream ‘ and ‘Othello’ to Kannada.
This multifaceted writer and a man of simplicity was awarded ‘ Padmashree ‘ in 2008.
His immense loss is felt deeply and has caused a big void in the world of Kannada literature. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
