Pakistani special forces officer Major Syed Muiz killed:
It was reported that Pakistani special forces officer Major Syed Muiz had captured Indian fighter pilot Abhinandan Varthaman during the 2019 Balakot airstrike. But now it is reported that he was killed by Tehreek-e-Taliban-Pakistan. Tehreek-e-Taliban-Pakistan is also a militant organization with weapons operating on the Pak-Afghan border.
Action by Pakistani Taliban:
Major Syed Muiz, who was posted in the 6th Commando Battalion of Pakistan's Special Services Group (SSG), was reportedly killed during an operation in the Sargodha area of Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The TTP, also known as the Pakistani Taliban, has claimed responsibility for the death of Major Syed Muiz.
Group Captain Vardhaman, who was abducted by the Pakistan Army, was then a Wing Commander. He became a national hero after he shot down a Pakistani F-16 fighter jet in an airstrike on February 27 in his generation-old MiG-21.
During this operation, he flew over parts of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. During this operation, his plane was hit by bullets and he had to land in enemy territory. After jumping out of the plane, he was captured by the Pakistan Army. Thus, he was in the custody of Pakistani soldiers for about 60 hours. After this, India and the world community strongly urged Pakistan to release him. Later, Pakistan released this proud son of India.
