Today's Gospel Reading
Luke 6:20-26
Blessed are you who are poor...
Blessed are you who hunger...
Blessed are you who weep now...
Blessed are you when men hate you...
REJOICE in that day and LEAP FOR JOY, because GREAT is YOUR REWARD in HEAVEN
Today's Gospel begins with Jesus beginning the Discipleship Training to his DISCIPLES.
Here, DISCIPLES is broader than just the Twelve. They are the followers of Jesus.
He addresses them as Blessed are the poor, and begins to explain how the kingdom of God turns the values of the world upside down.
The world says... Blessed are the RICH, but Jesus says Blessed are the POOR.
I'm not sure the poor would agree, and the rich would probably laugh.
But Jesus is talking about a different kind of wealth.
The rich look to accumulate Wealth on the earth.
But the poor have less to even survive.
Jesus is assuring the Poor, you have riches in heaven.
Hence you are Blessed.
Jesus is talking about the people who are rich because they have compromised and are trusting in their riches instead of following Jesus.
When we say that something is alive, we would expect it to be breathing and moving.
And if we have handled creatures or animals that are alive, then we know that it is not that easy to keep them still and under control.
When we think about life, then we must know that life is dynamic and with its twists and turns, and to expect the unexpected.
And with that, we know that life is not a straight line, but rather life is like a cycle of ups and downs.
We know that if life, all things will come and go, but God is everlasting.
In God alone, will our hearts be at rest and be at peace.
GOD BLESS YOU
Good morning. Have a nice day.
