Udupi : In response to All India Congress Committee Interim President Sonia Gandhi on signature campaign throughout the country against the recently passed various Farm Bills in the parliament, Udupi district Congress Committee organized signature campaign here on Tuesday, November 17 .

In Udupi district in regard to signature campaign, the collected signature rolls from 1111 booths of the district displayed in a public place for one and half kilometers from Bannanje Narayana Guru temple to Kalsanka junction by huge Congress party workers from 10.30am. Saleem Ahmed KPCC Working president launched the signature campaign.

Ashok Kumar Kodavoor Udupi district Congress Committee was handed over the collected signatures rolls to Saleem Ahmed at City Bus Stand to give President of Union India through the Congress Central Committee leaders at New Delhi.

Speaking to the Congress workers, Saleem Ahmed said that the rights of the farmers snatched in the country and the state by the BJP. The Congress party condemns the Farm Law bill. BJP governments at Centre and the state are anti-farmers, anti labour and corrupt governments.

Saleem Ahmed said the union government failed to face the corona pandemic in the country. In order to recover the economy due to pandemic, the prime minister of the country announced Rs. 20 lac crore to the nation. However, no one knows where they spent such a huge amount. During the pandemic, the state government in the name of corona pandemic, instead to take precautionary measures against the pandemic, in the name of pandemic BJP government indulged very serious allegation of corruption. Congress asked total expenditures and bills for the purchase of PPE kits and other medical materials. But they are not able to produce the details about the expenditures.

Saleem Ahmed said the prime reason to collect the signatures from the farmers would to pressurizing the President of India not to pass the Bill which affects farmers in long run in the country.

Former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake also spoke during the occasion. The district Congress Party collected more than one lakh signatures from 1111 booths of the district. This would be campaign for the farmers to get justice and their rights. The Farm bill and labour bill which passed by the centre would be total against the farmers as well as labours.


Earlier Ashok Kumar Kodavoor welcomed and placed the importance of the well organized signatures campaign. District Congress workers are collected more than one lac signatures which are huge success of the campaign.
