Udupi : The people of Udupi district responded positively to the call by prime minister Narendra Modi to observe Janata Curfew on Sunday, March 22 to protect themselves from the pandemic Corona Virus 19.

Being a Sunday, the people observed Janata Curfew by staying indoors and very few vehicles belongs to milk supply, tankers, two wheelers and emergency vehicles were seen on the road. All the shops and medical stores also closed in the district.

The weekly market in Santhekatte which looks heavy congested and crowd usual days earlier was seen deserted today. The weekly Santhekatte market completely closed down. Some pedestrians were seed on the road.

Temples, churches closed their door today to support from the pandemic Corona Virus. People had stocked essentials on previous days itself to avoid shortage of food items especially.

Huge queue of persons were seen near the wine shops and chicken centres in the Santhekatte on Saturday.

Coronavirus infection has crossed 312 in the country. We need to take care of ourselves and control the epidemic to prevent infection. Prime Minister Modi has called for self-restraint for the people of the country. There is widespread support for this.
