Mangalore:   Work can be successful only when like-minded people work as a team with love, commitment and honesty. Such works not only uplift the dignity of the institution but also give us self-satisfaction, said Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Prof. P. Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya opined.

Speaking after inaugurating the new offices of Konkani Study Chair, Beary Study Chair and Youth Red Cross Unit of Mangalore University, built at University College Mangalore on Wednesday. Chief guest, Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy former president Roy Castelino, said that the establishment of the new office has inspired the work being done by the Konkani Study Chair for the development of Konkani,  andhe thanked the Vice Chancellor on behalf of the Konkani speakers.

Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy former president of BA Muhammad Hanif hailed the Vice Chancellor for contributing to the development of all local languages of coastal Karnataka. District Red Cross Society President CA Shantharama Shetty said that like language and culture, humanity and nationalism are priority for the Red Cross. The new office will help to become more efficient, he added.

The vice chancellor who was responsible for the establishment of the new office was felicitated on this occasion. Principal Dr. Anasuya Rai presided over the program. Anasuya Rai said that development of local language and culture has been given priority during the administration of Prof. P. S Yadapadithaya. 

Principal of University Evening College Dr. Lakshmi Devi L, Vishwa Konkani Center President of CA Nandagopal Shenoy, Beary's Chamber of Commerce and Industry President SM. Rashid, District Red Cross Honorary Secretary C. Kusumadhara, Mangalore University Youth Red Cross Nodal Officer Dr. Ganapati Gowda were present among others. 

Konkani Studies Chair Coordinator Dr. Jayavant Nayak welcomed the guests, while Beary Study Chair Coordinator Dr.A Siddique extended vote of thanks. PG Economics Lecturer Shama INM mastered the ceremony.
