Panchkula, May 27: A tragic incident has come to light in Panchkula, Haryana, where seven members of a debt-ridden family committed suicide by consuming poison. All the bodies were found in a car, the car's registration number is said to be from Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The incident took place in Sector-27, Panchkula, at around 11 pm on Monday night.
According to information, the deceased included a husband and wife, their three children and two elderly family members. Immediately after receiving the information, the police reached the spot and took everyone to the hospital, where six people were declared dead. Although the condition of one person was also serious, he also died later.
According to the police, two of the deceased have been identified as Praveen Mittal and his father Deshraj Mittal. In the initial investigation, the reason for the suicide is said to be huge debts. The police have registered a case and started an investigation.
DCP reached the spot after receiving information about the incident, DCP Himadri Kaushik reached the spot. In addition, DCP Law and Order Amit Dahiya also visited the spot. DCP Himadri Kaushik said that the initial investigation shows that it looks like a suicide case. However, the police are investigating the matter. He said that a forensic team has reached the spot and the interior of the car has also been examined.
This family was doing business in Dehradun. The important thing is that a person named Praveen Mittal was doing travel and tourism business in Dehradun. But due to heavy losses in it, he is alleged to have committed suicide along with his family.
