Moodbidire: In a significant step towards digital transformation, Alva’s Education Foundation has entered into a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CompCloud IT Services, a leading Managed IT Services Partner. This collaboration aims to enhance the institution’s enterprise-grade IT infrastructure through CompCloud’s unique Digital Workplace Solutions suite, Education Desktop as a Service (EDaaS).

With this partnership, Alva’s Education Foundation has adopted Managed Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), enabling teaching and non-teaching staff across its group of institutions to access dedicated private virtual desktops hosted locally within the campus. Additionally, the institution has integrated Microsoft Office 365, a free offering from Microsoft, to enhance messaging and collaboration among faculty and administration.

In a phased workspace modernization approach, the institution is also upgrading its network infrastructure with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and transitioning to a centralized Managed Printing solution.

The adoption of CompCloud’s EDaaS model allows Alva’s to bypass the conventional hardware lifecycle challenges, significantly reduce capital and operational expenditures, and minimizes software licensing costs. With a flexible, service-based model, the institution now pays only for the services utilized, ensuring a cost-effective and scalable IT infrastructure.

This strategic collaboration marks a milestone in Alva’s Education Foundation’s commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology into its academic and administrative ecosystem.

Alva’s Education Foundation Trustee Vivek Alva, CompCloud IT Services Managing Director Pradeep Pai, Alva’s College’s Principal Dr Kurian,  Controller of Education(CoE) Dr NP Narayan Shetty, AEF Finance Officer Shantaram Kamath, Administrative Officer Balakrishna Shetty  were present among others.
