Dharwad: Nov 05: Vigilance Awareness week is being observed with the objective of avoid corruption and to create awareness among the staff as well as public about the need to weed out corruption and ensure transparency in administration said Sathish S Chitagubbi ,SP, Karnataka Lokayukta, Dharwad.He was delivering a special lectureseries organized by Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank (KVGB) at Dharwad on Saturday to conclude the Week long Vigilance Awareness Week. He also pointed out that only the public has the power and they can withstand against any evils of the society. While cautioning the general public about Cyber-crimes Sathish said, public should remain vigilant about various methods adopted by the fraudsters and corrupted elements. He urged every government servant to discharge duty honestly. 

P Gopi Krishna, Chairman, Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank (KVGB) in his introductory speech has asked the Bank officers and employees to be vigilant and helpful to the  public always. He underlined the need to maintain a clean and transparent administration and called for follow the rules, procedures and bye-laws to avoid questionable decisions. He said the need of the hour is to maintain highest standards by showing exemplary honesty, dedication and commitment to the organization. 

Police Inspector, Laxman Masaguppi administered the pledge to the Bank employees.

General Managers of the Bank B Chandrashekhar Moro,  B C Ravichandra, M Punith . K R Adiga, Regional Manager Dharwad,  K S Bhat, CM, Vigilance Department  Manjunath K B ,Lokayukta Inspectors, M B Mokashi,  Basavaraj Awati and other senior officials were also present.

The vigilance Department of the Bank has organized various events like online quiz competition for staff, debate competition for college students, Awareness Jathaetc during the Vigilance Week.  Prizes were distributed to winners of debate competition held at  Dr. D G Shetty First Grade Collage, Dharwad on the subject “Is it possible to eradicate corruption from India”
