Mangalore: Department of Commerce in association with Internal Quality Assurance Cell organized Student Capacity Building Programme on the topic “Cultivating Scientific Temper & Developing Modern Thoughts and also Book Launch: BANDH SAMRAT-Tales of External Rebel George Fernandes” on August 29,2022 at 1.00 pm in the College Auditorium.

Chief guest of the programme was Prof. Narendra Nayak President of Federation of Indian Rationalists (FIRA). Chris Emmanuel Dsouza Author of Bandh Samrat, Risk analysts Canada and Prof. Lourdusamy research Guide, Srinivas University Mangalore were the Guest of Honours. Rev Fr Michael Santhumayor presided over the programme. Dr Jacob Copemen anthropologist Sanciago Spain, Prof Akhila JSS College Mysore, Shyam Sundarao Retired and Chief Manger Syndicate Bank,  Prabhakar Kapikad actor and manager of Syndicate Bank, Alfred Maxim Retired Chemical Engineer at Nigeria, Gunman Solanki Manoj Albuquerque Businessman were present for the programme. Bandh Samart Book was released by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries.

Prof. Narendra Nayak in his address said that George Fernandes was called as an Emergency Person who opposed indeltorial rules of Indira Gandhi. He was the most significant politician from Mangalore. Sir also said “You may like him,  you may hate him but you cannot ignore George Fernandes”. Panel Discussion about the bookrelease  was taken over by the Author  Chirs Emmanuel Dsouza and Prof Lourdusamy. 

150 students benefited from the session. The involvement of the participants could be measured when they raised this inquisite queries which were replied with equal clarification.

Rev. Fr Michael L Santhumayor, principal gave the presidential remarks.  Cassin Rodrigues Vice principalintroduced and welcomed the gathering. Jostan D’Souza of II B. Com compared the session and  Denzil Pinto, Faculty of commerce department proposed the vote of thanks.
