Mangalore : The new team of office bearers of Konkani Toastmasters Club for the year 2022–2023, led by President Anita Cordeiro, took charge during the Installation Ceremony held recently at the auditorium of Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management, Bondel, Mangalore. 

Journalist, author, theatre artiste and corporate trainer Stephan Mascarenhas (Hemacharya), Director of Daijiworld Media Pvt Ltd was the chief guest. In his speech, Stephan Mascarenhas advised the Toastmasters members to follow certain etiquettes to achieve success in life. "Smile, be positive, be punctual, take care of your health, learn more by asking questions, pray and have patience," he said.

Toastmasters’ Area Director Dr Meera Rao administered the oath of office to the new team of President, Anita Cordeiro. The team includes Jessy D'Souza (Vice President–Education),  Peter Alwyn D'souza (Vice President – Membership), Dalvy Ferrao (Vice President – Public Relations), Warren Cordeiro (Secretary), K. Subramanya Kamath (Treasurer) and Irene Mendonca (Sergeant-at-Arms).

Outgoing President Dr. Zita Lobo thanked her teammates and club members for their cooperation during her tenure. The incoming President, Anita Cordeiro, sought the support of all the members to achieve the club goals during her tenure.

The District Finance Manager, Sapna Shenoy, felicitated the club. Division Director Daryl Rodrigues shared his message for a successful term. Reena Monteiro, president of Winners Club Toastmasters; Naveen Frank, from Crescent Toastmasters Club, Sharjah; and Hendrita Colaco, from Muscat, congratulated the new club officers.

The programme commenced with a prayer song rendered by Lavita, Zita, Lyra, and Irene. Amith Ananda welcomed the gathering. Anita Cordeiro presented the annual report. Mahesh Nayak introduced the chief guest. Warren Cordeiro gave the vote of thanks. Peter Alwyn D’souza and Dalvy Ferrao compered the programme.

Konkani Toastmasters is a new Toastmasters club, chartered last year, which has successfully completed a year on July 1, 2022. It is a bilingual club and encourages members to make speeches in Konkani as well as English. It was formed with the objective of enabling the members to develop their public speaking skills in the Konkani language.
