Bengaluru: For the first time-ever in the country, a museum of agarbathis is coming up in Bengaluru, Karnataka initiated by Ullas Agarbathi. The museum will showcase the tradition, the journey of agarbathis, innovations and how they have captured the imagination of the world. Ullas Agarbathi itself exports to over 50+ countries and plans to expand the same, driven by specific fragrances required by specific countries.

India leads the world in Agarbathi exports with over 83,000 shipments, followed by China (20,000) and Vietnam(12,000) and India’s agarbathi export market is valued at over Rs. 1,500 crores. Bangalore and Mysore regions are known to be  ‘Agarbathi hubs’. 

600 million incense sticks a month

To cater to the growing market – both domestic and international -, Ullas  Agarbathi is setting up a Rs. 100 crore state-of-the-art facility in Tumkur. Ullas is already producing 600 million incense sticks a month and the new manufacturing unit will exponentially scale up the capacity. Importantly, the environment-friendly unit will be driven by research and development, innovation, and sustainability with local artisans at its core. 

Spanning an impressive 4.35 lakh square feet, this facility is set to become Asia’s largest Export house dedicated to production of incense sticks by mid-2025.This ambitious project underscores Ullas Agarbathi’s commitment to scaling up its operations and reinforcing its leadership position in the Indian market which is estimated to be over Rs. 10,000 crores, generating large-scale employment. 

Arun Yogiraj to launch ‘Nirantara’ Oil

Post the launch of their signature ‘Nirantara’ brand of agarbathis a few years ago, celebrated sculptor Arun Yogirajwill be launching ‘Nirantara’ oil, a premium puja oil on August 26, thus marking a significant extension to Ullas Agarbathi’s distinguished ‘Nirantara’ product line. Arun Yogiraj, sculptor of Sri. Ram Lalla idol in Ayodhya, said “The craftsmanship and cultural significance that Ullas Agarbathi embodies are truly inspiring.
