Bahrain: The Bahrain International Series Badminton Tournament 2023 had a colorful start on 14th November 2023 at The Indian Club – Bahrain.
The badminton lovers of Pearl island witnessed thrilling matches right from the start of 1st day…which indicated the exciting return to top class international badminton action for both the Indian Club and the Kingdom of Bahrain.
More than 225 internationally ranked players from 22 different countries have now arrived in Bahrain for what will be Bahrain’s largest ever International Series event, all looking for valuable world ranking points and also qualifying points for Olympic 2024. The top 80 ranked Men’s Singles player Viren Netta singhe from Sri Lanka is also participating in this tournament.
There will be one more day of qualifying matches on Wednesday & the players look to play their way into the main draws, which are scheduled to take place from Thursday through to Sunday’s Grand Finale.
Practice has been fairly hectic over the last two days as players look to acclimatise to the Indian Club’s courts; the tournament referees arrived on Sunday and as part of their pre-tournament checklist, they inspected the venue and held a team managers’ meeting; smiles all around and everyone is raring to go on with their schedule.
