Bangalore, April. 03: The central government has announced to give 42 days leave to employees who donate organs.

Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh has informed the Lok Sabha that in case of organ donation, special occasional leave of maximum 42 days is allowed.

The minister said that this special occasional leave facility will be provided as per the advice of a government registered doctor regardless of any type of surgery done to get the donor organ.

The Ministry has issued an order in this regard in 2023. Employees can avail special casual leave from the day of hospitalization for surgery. The minister also said that it is allowed to take leave one week earlier as per the doctor's recommendation.
