Bengaluru: Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) has submitted a proposal for a price hike in milk, with the final decision on the price increase pending with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The proposal suggests an increase of Rs.5 per liter of milk.
Sources within KMF have confirmed that they are preparing to increase the price of milk by Rs.5 per liter.
In June 2024, there was increase of Rs. 2 per liter with an additional 50 ml of milk per packet. Now, with increasing pressure from 16 milk cooperatives in the state to raise the price by Rs.5 per liter. As a result, KMF submitted a proposal to the state government last year seeking approval for the milk price hike.
It is expected that the government will make a decision on how much of a price increase it will approve, based on which KMF will move forward with the proposal.
