Bhatkal: A container boat has drifted and become stranded on the beach at Jalli Kodi in the taluk. It is yet to be ascertained where it came from and how it became separated.
According to locals, around 2 am, this huge container (more than 30 meters long, 8 meters wide) floated into the sea and got stuck on the shore of Jolly Kodi. It is said that it is unable to float further from here because it has come in contact with the rocks on the shore of Jolly Kodi.
The entire container was anchored and standing upright, with no visible damage. It is believed to have separated from a ship and floated in the sea, although the exact cause is yet to be determined. The container has a nameplate bearing the name Cochin Shipyard, suggesting that it may have separated from the ship while being transported from Kerala to another country.
People flock to the beach to see: Hundreds of people flock to the beach to see the container floating on the beach in Jolly Kodi, and it is all the news in the town. The Coast Guard police have also visited the spot and inspected it.
Ship standing in the distance: According to fishermen, a large ship is standing in the sea, which has led to suspicions that this container came with it. Otherwise, they are talking about whether this container was separated while being transported by tying it to a large ship. Overall, another ship is seen in the distance, and whether this incident is related to it is yet to be known. But the suspicion that the ship is related to this is strong because it is standing still without moving.
