Mangaluru: A blood donation camp was held on August 17, 2025, in Permannur. The event was organized by the Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh (R), Mangalore South Varado, and the Permannur unit, in association with the SSVP Youth Unit, Lions Club, and Leo Club of Permannur, in collaboration with Father Muller’s Hospital.
The program began with a prayer song by members of the SSVP. Mrs. Tressy Rodrigues, Secretary of the Catholic Sabha Mangalore South Varado, welcomed the gathering. The event was presided over by Fr. Jose Vaz, Vicar of Mangalore South, while Fr. Cyprian Pinto, the Spiritual Director, inaugurated the camp and delivered an inspiring message.
Dr. Abhay Nayak from the Blood Bank of Father Muller’s Hospital provided valuable information about the importance of blood donation.
Melvin C. D’Souza, President of the Catholic Sabha Permannur unit, delivered the vote of thanks.
Dignitaries present on the stage included Mr. Dolphy D’Souza, President of the Catholic Sabha Mangalore South Varado; Wishart D’Sa, President of the SSVP Permannur Unit; Lion Cecilia Montero, President of the Lions Club Permannur; and Arun D’Souza, Vice President of the Parish Council.
A total of 59 people donated blood during the camp.
