Jaisalmer: A private bus going from Jaisalmer, Rajasthan to Jodhpur suddenly caught fire and the bus caught fire. About 15 passengers, including three children and four women, died in the tragedy. More than 15 others were seriously injured and were admitted to a local hospital.

According to media reports, the accident occurred around 3:30 pm near Thaiyat village on the Jaisalmer-Jodhpur highway. About 57 passengers were on the bus. The bus left Jaisalmer for Jodhpur at 3 pm as usual. The bus, which left Jaisalmer, was only 20 km away when smoke was seen coming from the rear of the bus and the fire broke out.
As soon as the fire broke out, the passengers started screaming and jumping out of the windows to save their lives. Many people's clothes and belongings were burnt. Locals and passers-by immediately rushed to help and informed the police and fire brigade.
Fire brigade vehicles reached the spot quickly and the fire was doused after a long time. According to the police, the cause of the fire is being investigated. According to initial estimates, a short circuit may have been the cause of the fire. Fire officer Rathod said, "The bus was completely engulfed in flames by the time we reached there. We managed to control the fire with great difficulty."
Many passengers suffered severe burns on their faces, hands, legs and various parts of their bodies. Omaram Bhil (30), a resident of Lathi, who was seriously injured, has been taken to Jodhpur. Imamat (30) and his son Yunus were also injured and are undergoing treatment at a Jodhpur hospital.
