Ernakulam: A 14-year-old girl died after a Kerala State Transport bus fell into a ditch in Maniyampara, Neryamangalam, Ernakulam. The girl who died has been identified as Anintha Benny, a native of Keerithod, Idukki. More than 15 people were injured in the incident. One of them is reported to be in critical condition. This morning, a scheduled bus belonging to the Kerala Transport Department, which was coming to Ernakulam from Kattappana, met with an accident. It fell into a ditch about 10 feet deep on the side of the road.

The girl, who was thrown out when the bus lost control and rolled, was trapped under the bus, resulting in the girl's death. The bus was lifted by a crane and the girl, Aninta Benny, was immediately taken to the hospital, but her life could not be saved.

The other passengers trapped in the bus were immediately taken out. Many locals, including the fire brigade, participated in the rescue operation. There were several passengers in the bus. The accident occurred on the way from Neryamangalam to Idukki. It is learnt that the bus lost control after hitting a roadside crash barrier and fell into a ditch.
