Don Bosco Church organizing 4th round of Covid 19 vaccination drive of Covishield for 18 years and above. Fr. Jude Joseph sdb, the asst. Parish Priest inaugurated the drive. Around 200 people were vaccinated. Thanking the organizers the Congress workers and Dr. Sukanya of the UPHC.
Fr. Aloysius Santiago, SDB Parish Priest, Don Bosco Church Lingarajpuram expressed his desire to make Ward No.49, Sarvagnya Nagar Constituency Corona free ward. He is also creating awareness among people dwelling in and around Lingarajapuram to get themselves vaccinated and also to safe guard by taking precautionary steps. Since April 2021 we have started campaigning on Vaccination. 5 days vaccination was conducted at a stretch for 45 and above People were reluctant initially, Fr.Aloysius formed a team who educated people on how this vaccination will save, our lives. Masks were distributed on few occassions to migrants while distributing provisions to Gulbarga, Bellary and Fortune Teller Migrants. Educated them on the need being hygiene and need for sanitation.
Repeated awarness education was rendered to them and follow up were done. Most of them are vaccinated. Like wise the same strategy was applied to Janaki Ram slums for DBSL was feeding them with lunch and dinner 500 nos daily for 6 months during corona as many were jobless and in poverty. August month, 3 day camp was conducted and we almost vaccinated around 300 members. Last week we had covaxin vaccination for 200 people and today Covishield for another 200. We plan to cover another 1000 in the Janakiram Layout slum, Don Bosco Centre and also at government school kachakarnahalli migrant colony. 1000 people were vaccinated in the Mosque at Janakiram layout. We have vaccinated around 1000 people till date in the slums. Let's work for CORONA FREE WARD .
