Omzoor – The Holy Family Church in Omzoor was filled with devotion, light, and the spirit of renewal on Saturday night as parishioners gathered in large numbers for the solemn celebration of the Easter Vigil Mass. With main celebrant for the evening, Fr. William Menezes con celebrated the the eucharistic celebration, who led the faithful through one of the most significant liturgies in the Christian calendar.

The ceremony began with the Blessing of the New Fire and the lighting of the Paschal Candle, symbolizing the light of Christ dispelling the darkness of sin and death. Fr. Menezes, in his homily, reflected on the triumph of resurrection and called upon the community to be beacons of hope and faith in today’s world.

The liturgy included the Liturgy of the Word, a moving sequence of readings recounting salvation history, followed by the Blessing of the Baptismal Water, and renewal of baptismal promises. The church resonated with hymns of joy and alleluias as the congregation celebrated Christ’s victory over the grave.

The Easter Vigil concluded with heartfelt wishes and blessings as the faithful greeted one another with the joy of the risen Lord.
