Bangalore: "The government has come to the conclusion that the engineering exams have asked questions that are not in the text and the actions will be taken in this regard" Higher Education Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C N Aswaththanarayana said.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, he said "I had a discussion with Prof. Karisidappa today the Vice Chancellor of Vishweshwaraiah Technical University (VTU)"
"I have instructed the authority to take necessary immediate steps to do this in the legal boundaries in order to protect the interest of the students."
"Multiple choices were made on the questions that were asked for the exam. Students were given the opportunity to choose their preferred question and write an answer. However, the DCM said that the government did not care about the interests of the students.
"However, the final year engineering exams was well under way. 99 percent of the students attended. This year more students were present for the exam than in previous years. This is definitely a good amount and growth."
"Those who did not attend the exam are now allowed to carryover. By the next semester, they can write the exam. If there are any questions that are not in the text, it will be given grace marks." The Deputy Chief Minister said that students need not worry about this.
