Dakshina Kannada (DK) on Friday August 28 recorded its single-day highest of 448 fresh coronavirus cases and six deaths, while Udupi recorded 174 new cases and two deaths.

Mangalore:- As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 11,837 positive cases have been reported till date, out of which 2,521 are currently active. A total of 91,490 samples have been tested so far, out of which 79,653 are negative.

As many as 8,973 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital, including 293 on Friday which include 11 from Covid care centres, 170 from home isolation and 112 from hospitals. A total of 343 deaths have occurred so far, including six on Friday.

Udupi:- As per the health bulletin released by the Udupi district administration,As many as 11,087 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 174 on Friday, and 2,608 cases are currently active. As per the district bulletin, 95 deaths have occurred so far, including two on Friday.

Among the 174 new cases, 67 are in Udupi, 85 in Kundapur, 13 in Karkala, and nine from outside the district. Among them, 93 acquired the virus through contacts, 58 have ILI, four have been diagnosed with SARI, and 18 are under investigation. One patient have domestic travel history. Out of the 174 cases, 105 are asymptomatic.
