Chennai: Four members of the same family, a doctor and his wife and two sons, were found hanging dead at their residence in West Annanagar on Thursday March 13, 2025 morning. According to the initial investigation by the police, it is suspected that the deceased doctor, who was running a scanning center in Annanagar, may have committed suicide as he suffered huge losses in it.
The deceased have been identified as Dr. Balamurugan, his wife Sumathi and sons Daswant (17) and Lingesh (15).
Police said that while Sumathi was working as a lawyer in a city court, her son Daswant was writing the Class 12 examination and her younger son Lingesh was studying in Class 10.
On Thursday morning, as usual, his driver went to the house. When there was no response from them, he informed the neighbors about this. Then when the neighbors looked in the window, they were all found hanging and dead. Balamurugan and his wife were found hanging in one room, while their two sons were found dead in another room.
The city police rushed to the spot on hearing the news, recovered the dead bodies and sent them to the Kilouk Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.
Police have registered a case in this regard
