Mangalore: The Guru Purnima celebration was held today at the Reshma Memorial Hall of Shakthi Residential School in Shakthinagar, Mangalore.

A Guru Puja was performed, with Pada Puja (ritual washing of the feet) offered to the chief guest, P.S. Prakash, followed by students seeking his blessings.
In his address, P.S. Prakash said, "I congratulate Shakti School and its students. I am impressed by their discipline and cultural values. The school is nurturing children with Indian traditions and discipline, which will help our nation achieve greatness in the world."
"In Indian culture, the Guru holds a sacred position—both God and Guru are worthy of worship. A father is akin to God, while a mother is akin to a Guru. Mothers and teachers refine children’s flaws, shaping them into responsible citizens. Education is not merely about earning a certificate; it must also instill values and culture essential for life. Shakti School is doing commendable work in imparting these values. India’s ethos should inspire the world, and this can only happen through children educated in such institutions."
He further emphasized civic responsibility, stating, "We must follow civic etiquette. Protecting nature is the first step toward safeguarding our nation, so we must preserve our environment."
Additionally, he encouraged children to visit temples with their parents at least once a week to help sustain cultural traditions.
Dr. K.C. Naik, Administrator of Shakthi Education Trust, presided over the program and blessed the students. Ramesh K, Chief Advisor of Shakthi Education Trust, and Natesh Alva, Vice Principal, were also present on the dais. Ramesh K* introduced the guests and delivered the welcome address.
