Mumbai, M 10: Four laborers tragically died from suffocation while cleaning a water tank at an under-construction building in Nagwada, Maharashtra, police said.
On Sunday, five contract workers fell ill due to suffocation while cleaning the tank at the under-construction Bimmilla Space building. The other workers present at the scene immediately alerted the fire brigade. The affected workers were quickly rescued from the tank and rushed to the local government hospital.
Four of the five workers who had fallen ill were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. The condition of the remaining worker is reported to be stable.
Officials from the Mumbai Municipal Corporation visited the site and conducted an inspection. An official stated that the police have launched an investigation into the incident.
