Moodbidri, May 26: Following heavy rainfall in the region, several incidents of damage and rescue operations were reported across villages in Moodbidri taluk.

In Kanchibailu, located in Puthige village, a group of youth from Mangaluru, who had visited the Erugundi Falls, were caught in the strong water current after entering the stream. Struggling to find their way back, they were successfully rescued and sent back safely by alert locals.

In Bmooda village, a compound wall belonging to G.M. Abdul Latheef Bin Abdul Khader, near Goodina Baliyara, collapsed. Fortunately, no damage was reported to the house.

In Badagabelluru village, the compound wall adjacent to the house of a resident named Mamatha collapsed, causing damage to the structure.

In Manchi village,  near Kukkaje Pathumudi, the compound wall beside the house of Mr. Hanif gave way due to the rain.

Additionally, in Bmooda village, a tree fell on the house of Gangadhar Bin Katada, causing partial damage. The Forest Department has been informed and action to clear the fallen tree is underway.

Authorities are on alert and monitoring the situation as rains continue to lash parts of Dakshina Kannada. Locals are urged to remain cautious and report any emergencies to the nearest authorities.
